Siddharth Mehta: Haryana cadre IAS officer Ashok Khemka has been transferred on Wednesday from the Science and Technology department to Archives, Archaeology, and Museums. It is his 53rd transfer in a 28-years career.
On October 15, 2012, the 1991-batch IAS, Ashok Khemka came to prominence when he canceled the mutation of Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra in an illegal land deal in Gurugram. The state of Haryana was then headed by Congress Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda.
Khemka is also a whistleblower of multiple scams that took place under Bhupinder Hooda’s term, including the Robert Vadra DLF land scam, Sonepat-Kharkhoda IMT land scam and Garhi Sampla Uddar Gagan land scam.
Ashok Khemka was the favorite of the BJP while it was in the opposition. The BJP then continuously targeted the Congress basis of the scams unveiled by Khemka.
Even as BJP rose to power in the center and Haryana the plight of honest Ashok Khemka remains the same and he gets transferred frequently.
Haryana government has on Wednesday moved 14 IAS officials, first big shuffling after the BJP-JJP coalition took over the administration of the state.
