Shab-e-Qadar or Laylat al-Qadr is the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Mohammed, according to Islamic beliefs. Shab-e-Qadar or Laylat al-Qadr occurs in the month of Ramzan. Muslims believe, on this night, which is also known as Lailatul Qadr, God forgives sins, accepts supplications and that the annual decree is revealed to the angels who also descend to earth.
The specific date of Laylat al-Qadr is not mentioned in the Quran. According to Islamic beliefs, on Shab-e-Qadar, the reward of acts of worship done is more than the reward of around 83 years of worship. This day is described as the Night of Power in the Quran.
Shab-e-Qadar Date 2019: When is it?
The date of Shab-e-Qadar is not fixed. It falls on one of the odd nights in the last 10 days of Ramzan, meaning 21st or 23rd or 25th or 27th or 29th of the holy month. Therefore, in India, Laylat al-Qadr could be on the night of May 30 or June 1 or June 3.

Laylat al-Qadr assumes significance in the Islamic world as the Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammad on this night. Muslims believe that on this night the blessings and mercy of God are abundant. Muslims hold special prayers and recite Quran entire night to seek God’s blessings and mercy.

Nobody knows when Shab-e-Qadar falls in Ramzan. It is said on Shab-e-Qadar, it is a serene, quiet and shining night. The temperature is neither hot nor cold and the moon shines clear. There could be rainfall either during the night or during the day of that night.
