Former MP and convener of Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) Pappu Yadav on Tuesday sold onions outside the BJP office in Patna at a discounted price of 35/kg amid a developing emergency regarding onion costs rise.
When costs of onion are soaring the nation over and are being sold for around 100/kg in Patna, Pappu Yadav decided to encash the chance to connect with the locals and launched a scathing attack on the BJP.
As the updates on Pappu Yadav selling onion at less expensive rates spread in the area, huge individuals lined up outside the BJP office to purchase the kitchen essential.
Speaking with India Today TV, Pappu Yadav lashed out at the Center for neglecting to give a respite to the regular man who has been reeling under rising costs of onion for many weeks. Pappu Yadav also hit out at Union Minister for Consumer Affair, Food and Distribution, Ram Vilas Paswan, for his rehashed affirmations that the Center was importing onions and costs would descend by mid-December.
“The Center and Bihar government are doing nothing to give any relief to the normal man. Why is govt not giving subsidy on onions? The minister says that costs will come down in the coming days. Up to that point what are the people expected to do,” asked Pappu Yadav.
BJP MLA Prem Ranjan called Pappu Yadav’s act to sell subsidized onions outside the BJP office a “nautanki”.
