The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday allowed the government to grant a six-month extension to Chief of Army General Javed Bajwa. In its short order, the apex court directed the government to bring necessary legislation within six months’ time.
The court had earlier reserved its verdict in this high-profile case and directed the government to furnish fresh documents of the army chief’s extension of services.
The today’s order of reinstating Bajwa as the army chief has not come out as a surprise to the world as only Army commands in Pakistan. All other institutions, democracy, judiciary, policing, etc is a mere eyewash
