Haryana: Class 1 student booked for Rape attempt under POCSO act

In a shocking incident, a boy of a government school in Haryana’s Sirsa town studying in class 1st had a case registered against him for attempting to rape his classmate, police informed on Sunday.

The police came to know about the incident from the Civil Hospital. A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act was registered on the complaint of the victim’s mother.  The mother of the minor girl said her daughter reached home crying and complaining of stomach ache. She took her to a nearby doctor, who later advised the woman to take the victim to Sirsa civil hospital.

Police officer Rajesh Kumar said that the victim’s mother had complained that the classmate of her daughter attempted to rape her in the school during the lunch break. So the necessary action was initiated against the alleged offender.

According to Rajesh Kumar, the victim told police that she does not know the accused by face, but will recognize him by face. The police said they soon will take the girl to school for identification of the accused. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at the civil hospital.
