Ashram of Swami Sandeepananda Giri, who supported the Supreme Court verdict in Sabarimala temple case in which women of all ages were allowed was attacked early Saturday, police said.
The ashram head supported the government’s plan to support the court’s order.
Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the attack and visited the ashram. He said “We won’t allow communal forces to take law into their hands,” after visiting the ashram.
Attackers set on fire two cars and one scooter of the ashram.
