Apple’s new pro-monitor stand breaks the internet, but for the wrong reasons

by Abhishek Kumar Das: Apple is well known for its revolutionary products that always manage to get the buzz, but a new product unveiled by the multi-billion corporation has created an uproar on the internet.

In its annual Worldwide Developer Conference in San Jose this week, the company revealed its new Mac Pro desktop, priced at $6,000 and the Pro Display XDR priced at $4,999 but it was a monitor stand that has the internet going crazy with criticism towards the company, as the monitor stand has been priced for a hefty $999, which is more than the iPhone X which costs $749.

“The Pro Stand has an intricately engineered arm that perfectly counterbalances the display so it feels virtually weightless, allowing users to easily places it into position” the company noted on their website.

The stand has technology fans mocking the huge price tag on the product, calling it an “unexciting accessory”.

One Twitter user wrote “Has Apple lost base with reality?”, “Who in their right mind thought that was a good idea,” wrote another Twitter user.

The move has also been called an “evil” and “greedy” move by the company which has been known for overpricing their products despite minimal or next to no changes, except a few with some change in the internal components leading to the hike.
